Frequently Asked Questions
REFUND POLICY
What is the name of the institution/sponsor that is hosting this meeting?
Production and Operations Management Society (POMS)
Do I need a visa to travel to Türkiye?
The visa requirement depends on nationality. Visa type for attending a conference is “Tourist / Business person” (mfa.gov.tr/general-information-about-turkish-visas.en.mfa). Passport holders for some countries, including most European countries, are exempt from visa, while visitors from other countries may require one (see mfa.gov.tr/visa-information-for-foreigners.en.mfa). U.S. passport holders, as well as passport holders of many other countries not exempt from tourist visa (see evisa.gov.tr/en/info/ for a list) may apply for an e-visa at www.evisa.gov.tr for tourism and short-term business travel, including conferences. The application is straightforward and can be completed in 5 minutes. Foreigners wishing to enter Turkiye must carry a passport, or a travel document as a substitute for passport, with an expiration date at least 60 days beyond the “duration of stay” of their visa, e-Visa, visa exemption, or residence permit. Depending on your nationality, there may be additional requirements. You will be informed of these requirements after you select your country of travel document and travel dates on www.evisa.gov.tr.
In what form will accepted abstracts be presented at the conference?
You will be making an oral presentation of your accepted abstract at the conference.
Do I need to bring my laptop?
POMS will provide the projector, however, you must bring your own laptop or borrow it from someone. It is recommended that you also bring your presentation on a USB drive/flash drive/thumb drive.
How much time do I have for my presentation?
You will have 20 minutes including questions/answers.
Will there be conference proceedings?
There will be no proceedings. Instead, there will be a Program Book (available online and in printed format) which will provide details of all conference related activities.
Do I have to become a POMS member to register for the conference?
No, but you are highly encouraged to do so. The regular membership fee is $160. The affiliate membership (with limited rights) is free for students and retired academics. Residents of certain countries (Africa/Brazil/Beijing/India/Sri Lanka/Latin America/Türkiye) are also eligible to become affiliate members at the discounted rate of $25. For details regarding regular and affiliate membership, see https://poms.org/membership/.
Why is my password not working for conference registration?
Please use the “forgot my password” function on the registration page if you cannot remember your password. If that does not work, send an email to Ms. Seema Singhania at pomsrenewals@gmail.com.
Why was I charged multiple times for my registration?
When you register for the conference, only hit the “Complete Registration” button ONE TIME. If you click this button multiple times, it could create duplicate charges for your registration.

Please send an email to Ms. Seema Singhania at pomsrenewals@gmail.com if this happens.
What should I do if my credit card was declined during registration?
Please contact your credit card company or try to use a different card.
Can I pay by check or wire transfer?
Our system is designed to accept payment by credit card only.
I cannot attend the conference. What should I do about my abstract?
Please email all details about your abstract (abstract number, title of presentation, and track to which it was submitted) to Dr. Guanyi Lu at glu@business.fsu.edu. We will remove your abstract. Make sure that none of your co-authors will present the paper. If you are already registered, mention your registration number for a refund. Review the "important dates" document for the deadline to apply for a refund.
How and when do I get the receipt for payment of registration fees?
You can print it online immediately after registration. The registration receipt will also be provided at the time of registration check-in.
Cancellation of abstracts of a registered participant
"I am registered for the conference and I am the presenter but I have received an email that says that my abstract will be removed because the presenting author has not registered."
Our system checks that for each abstract the presenting author has registered. This is done by matching the emails used during abstract submission and during registration. If the two emails do not match, the abstract is flagged for deletion. If you have multiple abstracts make sure that you use the same emails for all abstracts and for registration.

To resolve this problem, please contact Ms. Seema Singhania at pomsrenewals@gmail.com.
